Emitech CETRAM

Le CETRAM (European centre of technology and research in acoustics and material) has joined Emitech Group beginning 2007. Its testing and engineering solutions are intended to all sectors concerned by acoustics: from the manufacturer of electronic household appliances to automotive manufacturer.

The context of acoustics tests

The acoustics refers to the study of the sound perception and its origin, and in a broader sense, to all elastic vibrations and perceived noise.

The perception of undesirable sounds and more generally the definition of sounds are part of acoustics.
Taking into account the acoustics for vehicles, equipments or installations is becoming a standard as for regulation as well as for marketing needs.

Its field of action concerns several sector like :

  • Sound wave propagation,
  • Room acoustics,
  • Physiology of hearing,
  • Environmental acoustics,
  • Acoustics signal processing,
  • Spoken communication sciences,
  • etc.

The acoustics also includes other branches :

  • Study how the human brain processes sound define by the psychoacoustics (hearing sensation)
  • Production and perception of musical sounds define musical acoustics.
